Casey Trees is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

While donors are able to choose a specific park to plant a tree, we are unable to offer specific tree species or specific tree placement within the park. The species and specific location within the park will follow the planting plan set forth by the National Park Service (NPS).

Yes! When you donate, you have the option to dedicate a donation in honor of your friend or loved one and receive a certificate with their name on it.

Between Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, 37 trees will be planted at Lincoln Park, 19 trees at Stanton Park, 11 trees at Marion Park, and 13 trees at Folger Park. The remainder of the 170 trees will be planted in other NACE parks through the end of 2026.

The tree species being planted are native and historic to the parks, and include Willow Oak, Red Maple, Jefferson Elm, and Black Gum, among others.

The good news is that we welcome support in many forms! While sponsoring a tree is wonderful, we appreciate donations of any amount through this page - every dollar helps us reach our goal of planting native and historic trees in national parks managed by National Capital Parks - East.

We're planting 250 trees across multiple parks at $500 per tree, which covers everything from growing the sapling to planting and maintaining it for two years. Lincoln Park needs $18,500 for 37 trees, Stanton Park $9,500 for 19 trees, Marion Park $6,500 for 13 trees, and Folger Park $5,500 for 11 trees. When a park reaches its goal, we'll stop accepting donations for that location and redirect any excess funds to parks still needing support.

A shutdown temporarily delays tree planting but not fundraising. As an official National Parks Service partner, Casey Trees can continue collecting donations during the shutdown. All funds will be held securely until the government reopens, at which point we'll begin planting. Your donation remains safe and will be used as intended—a shutdown simply shifts our planting timeline, not our commitment to the project.
